Our History.
The Carbonera Neighbors’ website was started in 2014 when neighbors were concerned about fire danger in the area between Carbonera Creek and the Santa Cruz County buildings. The area contained many illegal campsites and posed a danger to residents due to the overlapping fire districts.
The Neighbors requested that local law enforcement help enforce the camping ban. This was done with the assistance of Save Our Shores. https://saveourshores.org/
Save Our Shores organized a massive volunteer clean-up effort and several dumpsters worth of trash and debris were removed from the area.
